Kid Culture

As many DJ's also Kid Culture started as a scratching & beat juggling vinyl junkie in the late 80's, but after his friends brought him to his first Acid House party in 1990, he got infected with the virus. He left his Hip Hop crew and started to explore what this new music has got to offer for KC. In that time the Amsterdam Club & Party scene became one off the hottest in Europe, and Kid Culture got totally sucked in to the Detroit House sound from the ones like , Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Juan Atkins and off course Club Roxy's resident Dimitri. KC knew this was the turning point in his record collection and started to buy this new Electronic Soul music.

Within a year off practising, making cassette tapes and dropping them at organisations,he got his first booking at a House party. Soon he became a frequent guest in clubs like the Mazzo, The iT, Melkweg, Roxy, Paradiso and the old legendary Graansilo. In 1996 he got recognised by a guy called Rocco, the founder off the famous Awakenings techno parties in Amsterdam. He programmed Kid Culture prime time as the new best talent in the Gashouder. Kid Culture played a legendary set which been talked about and listened for many years.

That was the time Kid Culture also gained recognition outside off Holland, he was getting bookings for clubs like Roxy Dust in Prague, the REX in Paris from Mr.Laurent Garnier, Club FIRE in South Africa, The Tunnel in NYC. Also on the production side Kid Culture got picked up by labels like the French Pinquin Records, he made rmx for The Godzilla project which was a big underground hit in the mid 90's. Because of that record he got to play at France biggest dance festival Borealis in Montpellier. He shared the decks with his favourite producers like Cari Lekebush, Jeff Mills, Marco Carola & Adam Beyer. In 2004, 2005 & 2007 Kid Culture rocked the stage at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival among Josh Wink, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, Chemical Brothers and many others. This was a drums, percussion,saxophone & DJ + FX set-up. A kind of fusion between jazz, breakbeats & tech-house which was a huge success.

Today Kid Culture's sound can be described as a mix from all the best what electronic dance music has given us the last 20 years. His sets are always full with energy, Tech-House, Deephouse, minimal, Electro, Techno..variation is the keyword. He always drop's a classic in his set, so people won't forget the artist who made this all possible.

Keep an eye on tha Kid, because Kid Culture will spend the winter locked in his studio to bring you some fresh soundz for 2009.

Robert Feelgood was born in Amsterdam and, like his own name, creates, continues and peaks with a positive atmosphere as main priority, from his first dj set in 1996.

Robert is a crowdpleaser and that’s his role behind the decks, but he's also an artist that enjoys the music as much as the crowd itself. “You have to love and respect your audience, because they are always number 1!” That’s why Robert always looks for a balance between, demands, wishes from the audience and his personal favourites.

It’s very simple. Without an audience no party and without a party no Robert. But there is also a resemblence between the artists and the person Robert Feelgood. This crowdpleaser is also a warm and social feeling person that prefers happy people with an honoust and clear character. Smiling faces everywhere!

With this connection between character and dj sets Robert also uses his musical wapons. An eclectic mix of several styles with elements like happiness, grooviness and funkiness as main ingredients. It’s not really surprising that this mix in combination with his character, provides a dancefloor filled with nice woman and man. That’s nature. You can’t change that, but you can use it and Robert does so.

This was a positive road to follow which provided Robert with residencies now (Sinners, Zebra Lounge, Hotel Arena) and in the past(Las Palmas, Now&Wow, club Velvet, Cosmic Lounge). Furthermore he appeared in- e.g. Escape Venue, Dance Valley, Hotel Arena, IT, Marcanti, Supperclub, Asta, Vasquez and Club More and outside Holland, Curacao, China, Spain, France. For three years he provided his housesounds on the number 1 radiostation of Holland; Radio 538, weekly on ID&T radio and now his own radioshow & sound of love on DEEP FM.

In 2006 he already travelled to Hong Kong, Shanghai and Rekjavik for special performances and the new single ‘thought you loved me’ is due to be released this spring. Two recent remixes we’re highly aclaimed. Vicky Cox with ‘Glad you made it raised the roof and Feelgood’s remix for PK’s ‘Stand by me’ is played on the dancefloors all over the globe. Besides this Robert made several compilation cd’s and music productions. This all besides his work as a dj and promotor. Dimitri was born on the 28th of October 1985 in Paramaribo, Surinam South America.

In the year 1991 he moved to Amsterdam, The Netherlands with his mother. Music is his life from the moment he was born. His biological father was a DJ at a famous radiostation and a Singer in Surinam. His Steph-Father was also a DJ. His big cousin is 1 of the biggest House DJ’s in Surinam nowadays. At the age of 12 years old, Dimitri learned how to DJ and bought his first Records at the age of 15. Every weekend he went travelling with his cousin learning how 2 entertain people and deliver quality at all times. 

At the age of 23 he started to produce Records with his cousin and a good friend. Together they released 3 tracks. “House Music”, “In Control” and “Drunk”. The last one highest ranking was #34 at Dance-Tunes.nl top 100. 

MC-ing all started as a joke on Thursday the 23rd of July 2009 at Panama in Amsterdam.

A day he will never forget. A day that changed his life. After that day he has been booked every weekend in the biggest Clubs in Amsterdam. Panama, Escape Venue, Club Home, Rain, Club Prime and the list goes on and on.

1 year later he was booked at Chersonissos, Crete in Greece. From the 6th of July untill the 1st of August he was MC-ing at the Slam FM Cafe. When he came back the bookings went on and on wich made him better.

Dimitri Nikita got support from the best MC’s in Holland. MC’s like Zawdi, Roga, Iceman, Knowledje, D-Jay, JollyGood and many more. While he gained confidence and experience he performed with the best DJ’s in the scene.
